A family dog, Sheba was an akita/shepherd mix rescued from the pound when she was a few years old and loved for the rest of her life. In her youth, she would try to get out and go on adventures when no one was looking. One time she made her way to a busy road a half a mile away. I can’t imagine how frightening all those speeding cars coming at her must have been, but she never ran away after that!
